Flat permissions are how tills get stolen from and reports go missing. Here is how Labtechio lets a Super Admin build the exact ladder a real venue needs.
Most POS software gives you two switches: admin, or cashier. That is fine for a coffee cart. It is a disaster for a real restaurant.
A venue actually needs at least four kinds of access, and often five:
- Cashier — takes orders, opens their own session
- Shift supervisor — can void, refund, approve discounts
- Manager — can see reports, manage stock, print labels
- Super Admin (owner) — can add staff, change roles, close the till on someone else
- Accountant — read-only reports and Z-reports, nothing else
Build the ladder in Labtechio
Go to Users ? Roles. Every permission is a checkbox, grouped by area:
- POS actions (sell, refund, discount, void)
- Cash (open, close, approve variance)
- Stock (view, edit recipes, adjust)
- Labels (design, print)
- Reports (today, historical, export)
- Staff (invite, promote, reset password)
Build your ladder once. Every new staff member picks from your roles — no more “I gave them admin because it was easier”.
Why it matters at 8pm
When a real problem happens — a refund fight, a cash-out miscount, a customer demanding to speak to a manager — the till already knows who is allowed to do what. The cashier does not have to guess. The manager does not have to hand out their PIN.
That quiet confidence is the whole reason granular roles exist.
